After pregnancy, childbirth and very little sleep, it’s completely understandable that being in front of the camera may not be at the top of your list. You might not feel like yourself yet, or you may simply want the focus to be entirely on your new baby.

You don't have to decide straight away.

During your newborn photography session, we can concentrate on your baby first. If, as the session goes on, you feel comfortable and decide that you'd like a few photographs with your baby, we can take them.

There is no pressure.

Because when you look back years from now, you may not notice the things you were worried about at the time. You’ll see your baby in your arms. You’ll see the connection between you. You’ll see the love on your partner’s face. I believe newborn photography should tell the story of your family, not just photograph your baby on their own.

For many families, their dog is their first baby — so of course they deserve to be part of the photographs too.

If your dog is comfortable around the baby and the environment, we can include them in a few photographs and capture those lovely first moments together.

You know your dog best, so if they need a little break, a walk or some quiet time, that's completely fine too.
